Dark Arts Bourbon 7 Yr Sherry
customer reviews
Description
This finished bourbon (nicknamed "Sherry Garcia") is a special release from the talented blenders and finishers at Dark Arts Whiskey House. Comprised of only eleven barrels, this expression features Ross and Squibb's (formerly MGP) high-rye bourbon (60% corn, 36% rye, 4% malted barley) aged for 7.5 years and finished in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks before bottling without chill filtration at a cask strength of 113.76 proof. The nose opens with dried figs and raisins backed by nutty Oloroso and toasted oak spice. On the palate, sweet flavors of caramel and vanilla give way to rich, nutty Oloroso flavors along with dried fruit, cinnamon, toasted oak, and a touch of peppery spice. The finish lasts medium-long with dried fruit sweetness and warming oak spice.
