PRE -SALE: Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskey 25 Year Altus

Crafted from spirit born in Scotland’s tallest stills, The Altus (Latin for “high”) is matured in Glenmorangie’s bespoke designer bourbon casksbefore being lifted even further by a sprinkling of whisky finished in Malmsey Madeira wine casks – a nod to the distillery’s groundbreaking 1995 Madeira Wood Finish.

Silky and opulent, The Altus 25 Years Old opens with a fragrant bouquet of carnation, rose, orange blossom and honey, entwined with ripe peach, vanilla, almond and a hint of nutty toffee.

On the palate, layers of mandarin, apple, pear and peach burst forth, balanced by tart gooseberry and yellow plum. Sweet butter-candy tones melt into soft oak accents of marzipan, icing sugar and ripe banana, culminating in a long, harmonious finish that lingers with elegant sweetness.
