Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel 2025 Special Release Tanyard Hill Rye 143 Proof represents one of the most powerful and concentrated rye expressions ever released by the distillery. Made from the high-rye mashbill of 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley, the whiskey is charcoal-mellowed before aging to ensure a smooth grain foundation despite the intensity of proof. Barreled in November 2015, this single-barrel release matured for nearly a decade in the upper tiers of Warehouse 1 on Tanyard Hill — the heat-rich, top-floor environment known for producing deeply extracted, heavy-oak barrels. Bottled at its natural 143 proof “Hazmat” strength, this release showcases undiluted Tennessee rye character at maximum concentration.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Dark cherry, fig, seasoned oak, tobacco leaf, brown sugar and rye spice intensity.
Palate: Explosive heat layered with candied mint, dark chocolate, roasted grain, charred oak, clove and dried fruit depth.
Finish: Very long, tannic and warming, with waves of spice, oak, leather and sweet tobacco lingering on the palate.
